PRESENTATION ON GRIT PLANT REGENERATION

Jacopa will give an interesting presentation on grit plant regeneration at the Pump Centre’s Scottish conference and exhibition, which is being held in Glasgow on the 2nd October.

Last year, Jacopa’s theme was the importance of grit removal, and the negative effect that grit has on downstream assets. This year, the company will expand on that issue by looking at the benefits of renewing existing grit plant to make it more efficient.

The presentation will reference a site that Jacopa recently upgraded. Here new plant was installed into an existing grit plant civils structure due to site constraints, providing a different type of grit removal system. The company will also discuss another planned retrofit project at an important Scottish Water site, which will insert modern, efficient grit removal plant into a redundant grease separator.

Jacopa Managing Director Alex Lloyd commented: “If a utility has an abandoned grit system, or one that is no longer working effectively, it is vital to regenerate it to provide a current technology that enables effective grit removal. Proper grit removal enables significant time and cost savings by reducing wear and tear on important downstream assets such as pumps and minimising the need to undertake laborious and costly grit removal from pipes and treatment processes.”

Jacopa will also be on stand 11 in the delegate area, where the company will present their latest, innovative products for the wastewater sector.
