REFURBISHMENT OF INLET SCREENS – THAMES WATER

Jacopa were instructed by Thames Water to survey the existing screens and provide a full refurbishment the existing assets. Jacopa subsequently undertook the full refurbishment including fitting new panel seals, new roller track, head shaft bearings, drive chain, motor gearbox, screen mesh panels and washer.

Jacopa took over the designated site area and removed and transported the screens back to its workshop facility where their experienced engineers carried out the work. A full strip down was then followed by a comprehensive rebuild. On completion the screens were shipped back to site and re-installed where they were fully tested and re-commissioned.

The asset life of the screens has been extended to provide many further years of service. Full operational capability has been restored ensuring reliable process delivery and reinstating the vital barrier against rag and debris carry over which can result in equipment downtime and costly rectification further downstream.
