BAND SCREEN REFURBISHMENT- NORTHERN IRELAND WATER
Screens were failing at Culmore WwTW due to changes in population from the design stage. The original screens supplied by Jacopa in 2005 were designed to fit in chambers that had originally housed Vertical Drum Screens. Jacopa’s innovative solution was to fully refurbish three of the existing CF100 band screens and install one additional screen. This cost effective solution avoided changes to the civil structures that would have been needed to accommodate alternative screen designs.
Together with other site equipment refurbished by Jacopa including screenings handling equipment and grit extraction plant, site capacity issues were resolved and a reliable and up to date Treatment Works established. Coupled with regular maintenance visits by Jacopa the plant is kept in very good working order and has surpassed all expectations.
