Bosker® Automatic Raking Screen

The Bosker® automatic raking screen is designed for a wide range of applications where highly effective bar screen cleaning is necessary.

The highly effective Bosker® automatic (trash) raking screen provides a vital first line of defence to the integrity of the entire wastewater treatment process. Fine screens, coarse bar screens and pumps are expensive and vital to the wastewater treatment works assets. Oversized, destructive debris, commonly found in high capacity intakes, can cause significant damage and lead to lengthy, costly downtime while repairs are carried out. Jacopa offers a complete range of Bosker® automatic rakes, which do the job of three key pieces of equipment: they efficiently remove high volumes of debris, and also act as a conveyor and debris loading system. The rakes are designed for a wide range of bar screen cleaning applications, providing coarse screen protection for intakes, pumping stations and wastewater treatment works.

Bosker rakes can be customised for each and every application, and are easy to retrofit into existing works without expensive modifications. They have many advantages over conventional trash rakes, which may require extensive civil works modifications and have limited ability to remove oversize, awkward or fibrous debris.

Simplicity of design and efficient debris handling make the Bosker raking machine the ideal solution for cost-efficient cleaning of single or multiple bar screens.

Key features of the Bosker Trash Rakes are:

  • Grippers available in widths of up to 5m
  • Intake depths of over 60m can be cleaned
  • Vertical bar screens can be designed/accommodated
  • Multiple dump areas can be selected
  • Travel speeds from 10 to 60m/min reduce overall cleaning cycle times
  • Low noise operation for urban sites
  • Safe access for repair, maintenance and operation

or existing or new installations, the rugged Bosker Overhead Trash Rake has screen bar spacing from 12 to 200+ mm, with grab and trolley mounted on a straight or curved monorail. Lifting weights of 250 to 3000kg can be accommodated by the grab mechanism. A variety of material options including stainless steel, hot-dipped galvanised steel, and a non-sparking aluminium-bronze design for plants where non-sparking materials are mandatory.

The simple design and efficient debris handling make the Bosker® Trash Rakes the ideal solution for cleaning single or multiple bar inlet screens at municipal wastewater treatment works. The Bosker is easily retrofitted into existing intakes of a robust, well-engineered and cost effective design, with low operational and maintenance costs. Able to clear large items of debris such as tree trunks, as well as accumulated smaller debris items. The fully automatic Bosker Grab takes debris from sump to dump in one smooth action and is virtually maintenance free, with no submerged moving parts.
