Jacopa® Channel Rake Bar Screen
The Jacopa CRBS coarse screening unit is the first step in a process of screening municipal wastewater. The purpose of the machine is to intercept and remove large size debris that can damage or slow down the process of fine screenings removal.
The chain screen is specifically designed for use in wastewater treatment plants. The solids removal capability depends on the type and amount of material expected in the upstream system. The screen consists of fixed bars able to block suspended solids larger than the screen space. Screened and retained solids are lifted out of the water flow by means of cleaning combs and conveys them to the discharge point of the machine. In the discharge area, a mechanical cleaning system, called counter cleaning, drops screened material into a collection box.
The Jacopa CRBS screen assembly is driven by an externally mounted directly coupled geared motor between 0.55kw and 2.2kw dependant on size.
Screen sizing can be tailored to suit most screening applications. Screen control can be from either upstream levels or from differential levels measured across the screen. Channel Rake Screens can operate in channels from 400mm to 2.0m wide with bar spacing from 8mm to 60mm and channel depths ranging from 600mm to 10,000mm. Note; there are no washwater requirements for debris removal for this CRBS.
Channel Rake Screens are installed at angles of 75° from the horizontal. Flow capacity is dependent on channel width, water levels and bar spacing.
Other applications include:
- Water & Waste Water Treatment Plants
- Tanneries
- Slaughterhouses
- Paper mills
- Textile industry
- Fish protection
- Food and chemical
