JACOPA’S NIGEL CHAPMAN, COMPLETES RIDE LONDON CYCLE

Jacopa Project Engineer, Nigel Chapman had the most incredible day cycling the 2019 Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 last weekend, delivering a great job despite what was a tough and an emotional day.

It took Nigel just over eight grueling hours to complete and would have been even quicker if the Surrey lanes had not been blocked with the sheer number of cyclists participating. However, the support of the British public along the way was amazing and helped Nigel reach the finish.

Ride London”, known through sponsorship as “Prudential Ride London”, is an annual festival of cycling held in London. It was developed by the Mayor of London, plus the City and Partners in Transport for London in partnership with Surrey County Council and is managed by the London & Surrey Cycling Partnership.

This ride is a grueling 100 mile route starting at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and heading out of London through Surrey over both Leith Hill & Box Hill and returning to finish line along the Mall.

Nigel cycled the event on the 4th of August, strongly supporting a charity to funding breast cancer research. In August last year Nigel’s wife Dawn was diagnosed with breast cancer and after undergoing surgery and treatment she is doing well and hopefully will make a full recovery.

Nigel is delighted with the help & support that he has had from his family, plus friends and colleagues at Jacopa in raising funds for Breast Cancer which is now very much the charity dedicated to funding research into this devastating disease.
