HydroSlide® Flow Regulators

Jacopa offers a wide range of HydroSlide® flow regulators suitable for use within foul and surface water sewers and river and attenuation ponds. This allows controlled flows to pass downstream limiting the potential for flooding. The constant discharge throughout the required head range also minimises the volume of upstream attenuation required.

How We Create Value

  • Certified performance with a flow accuracy of ± 5%
  • Maximise downstream capacity
  • Minimise upstream storage requirements
  • Stepped control possible
  • Low maintenance

HydroSlide® is the generic name for a range of accurate flow regulators that can be used in foul or surface water sewers, rivers and other watercourses.

The HydroSlide® flow regulators provide a constant discharge throughout the required head range, which utilises the permitted downstream flow rate.

By maximising the downstream discharge rate it enables upstream storage to be kept to a minimum which not only makes the overall cost of the scheme cheaper but also reduces the drain down time of attenuation structures over other types of control, enabling the attenuation system to be ready for the next storm quicker thus reducing flood risk.

Types of HydroSlide® available are as follows:

Mini – Low head applications

VN – Intermediate head

VS – High head applications

GM – Foul sewer applications

Combi – Foul sewer applications

HYDROSLIDE® MINI REGULATOR

Main Features Include:

  • The Mini Regulator is the most basic type of HydroSlide®.
  • Used for low impounding heads.
  • Float is directly attached to control plate.
  • Controlling up to approximately 3.5 x DN
  • Right & Left Hand Designs.
  • Robust construction in either 304 or 316L stainless steel.

HYDROSLIDE® VN & VS REGULATORS

Main Features Include:

  • Used for both Foul and Surface Water Applications.
  • Used for intermediate impounding heads.
  • Orifice Controlled by laser cut ‘control Cam’
  • Flow accuracy of ± 5%.
  • Front Float and side float versions available.
  • Right hand and left hand versions of side float.
  • Robust construction in either 304 or 316 L stainless steel.
  • Adjustable by ± 30 % from design set-point.
  • New Cam can be manufactured to suit new flow instead of replacing whole unit.

HYDROSLIDE® COMBI REGULATOR

Main Features Include:

  • Mainly for use in Foul sewer systems.
  • Automatic blockage release mechanism.
  • Float is internal reducing overall size.
  • Standard unit controls for heads up to 4.0 m.
  • Can be installed in upstream (inlet) or downstream (outlet) configurations.
  • Can be bolted directly to flanged pipe-work.
  • Models control flows from 8 l/s to 250 l/s.
  • Robust construction in either 304 or 316L stainless steel.

HYDROSLIDE® GM ‘Giehlmatic’ REGULATOR

Main Features Include:

  • Mainly for use in Foul sewer systems.
  • Automatic blockage release mechanism.
  • Float is positioned to the side or front to suit.
  • Standard unit controls for heads up to 3.4 m.
  • Installed in downstream configurations.
  • Models can control from 5 l/s to 60 l/s.
  • Robust construction in either 304 or 316L stainless steel.
